The goal of Sequim Bay Yacht Club is to promote boating traditions, safe boating practices, fun and fellowship among our members. We are a mixture of power boaters and sailors, boat owners and non-boat owners.
Cruising season starts in the spring with a “shakedown” cruise and culminates with a late fall trip to Victoria. Sail Fleet races take place on Sequim Bay spring, summer and fall in an informal, fun activity – Duck Dodge.
In 2015 the Junior Sailing Program will transition into a new Family Sailing Program, with classroom and on the water sailing instruction, that welcomes new members. There are special regattas planned for the summer.
Members meet monthly at 7:30pm, the second Wednesday of each month at John Wayne Marina. Social activities are held throughout the year for both couples and singles including special events such as Fall Fling, Christmas Party, Commodore’s Ball, Men’s Treat Breakfast and monthly Happy Hours. The Reach for Hospice Race is our major fund-raising activity directly benefiting Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County. Since 1976 Sequim Bay Yacht Club members have raised over $250,000 through this event.
