There are four classes of membership:
Regular:
- …at least 21 years of age
- …sponsored by two members in good standing
- note: couples living together at the same address shall maintain a couple membership; individuals who do not share the same address with a live-together partner shall maintain an individual membership.
Family:
- …family may include a couple or individual member & their children through age 15
- …children ages 10-15 in family memberships are automatically Junior Members with no additional dues
- …children ages 16-20 may become Junior Members upon payment of yearly dues without additional sponsorship
Junior:
- …junior members ages 10-20, sponsored by 2 members in good standing
- …junior members do not have clubhouse privileges unless accompanied by a Regular Member.
Honorary:
- …honorary members of the Sequim Bay Yacht Club are Michael Wayne, Patrick Wayne, and the late John Wayne. Dues, fees, and assessments are waived for Honorary Members.
A very important aspect of club membership is active participation. You will be asked to volunteer for clubroom & boating activities. This will offer the opportunity to meet fellow members and devlop a sense of satisfaction, knowing that you contributed your fair share.
Steps to Membership:
- Submit application (with sponsor signatures) and initiation fee to Membership Chair.
- Names of approved applicants are published in the Scuttlebutt for review by the membership.
- If no written objection is received within 10 days of publication, applicant’s application is approved.
- Membership becomes official upon payment of current dues and following presentation to the Bridge at the next general meeting.
