Our Thursday evening Duck Dodge series is now finished. I would like to thank all the
people who helped out with this event, including those who came out with their boats to
help the race committee, the bartenders and the clean up crews after the potluck.
The winners are — Wind Child 3rd place; Quintessence 2nd place and Weigh To Go 1st

NEW Ratings - 2008 - SBYC:
| Duck Dodge: This year the fleet voted to return to the old “Duck Dodge Ratings”, which are a combination of standard PHRF ratings and the experience of each boat over all the races it was in during 2007 and 2008. More weight was given to the standard PHRF rating, but many boats’ ratings were changed considerably by the experience factor. These ratings will be used during the first series, and then revisited. |
| Saturday Series: To make it possible for boats with a variety of sailing equipment (new sails vs. old sails) and talent (good crew vs. green crew), the handicapper was asked to objectively rerate the fleet using additional factors not normally used by PHRF. The object is to make it more possible for any boat in the fleet to win on a given day. |
